The End of the Day

At the end of the day, we are all the same.
At the end of the day, we are all different.
At the end of the day, we are everything.
At the end of the day, we are nothing.

At the end of the day, we are…

There is seldom, if ever, a true example of individual-ness, and independence is only an allusion created by those who wish to control and manipulate.  We are all bound, and unbound, inexplicably to one another and to everything around us.  We exist together in a sea of ideas and perceptions built up by millions of years of cellular memories, and destroyed by those who seek to force control over everything, and nothing.

At the end of the day, we perceive that which we can not comprehend, and ignore that which we fully understand at the depths of our cores.

At the end of the day, we return to a natural state of …

being.

We Only Exist

So filled in my
thoughts, I can barely see ahead of my own mind.

I see much and nothing
so completely that I am filled with a longing I can not Identify.

I feel split between
myself

And

myself.

I am compelled to
understand all, but I am also compelled to understand nothing.

My feelings have befriended me. My thoughts have also befriended me. I escape nothing and so I must accept everything for what it is.

If I think too long, I become trapped in an endless loop of what-ifs. I search for things that may or may not exist.

The telephone rings.

“Who is it?”
No one is there, yet I speak to the person who exists only in my mind.

“Who is it?” I ask again.

It is only my thoughts.

Compassion, love,
understanding, joy

sadness, longing,

hope,

fear,

self-knowledge,

self-doubt,                                              a knowing wink.

These things are important in life. These things are life. Without them, life ceases

and we only exist.
