I don’t often talk regarding other modalities outside of Energywork, however, it is important to realize healing must take place on many levels.

True health and wellness begins with a mind-shift away from negative influence.  One must make a conscience decision to move into health and wellness.  This isn’t one of those shifts like one would do to start a diet.  This is real inner and personal change.  This is where one makes a decision to move on with life and leave the past in the past.  This is the type of mental health where one chooses to deal with life head on and move past insecurities into real mental health.

That doesn’t mean you have to be mentally healthy to enjoy health and wellness, but that mind shift, that intend to be more than what you currently are, shifts your perception away from negativity and failure, towards growth and potential.

Stagnation, dependence, codependency, and other issues will only serve to drag you down and deflate your new accomplishments.  When you choose mental health, you leave behind any negative influence and focus on success, health, and overcoming adversity.

If you are not growing, you are dying.

Once you have chosen your mindset and begun working on yourself mentally and emotionally, you need to begin focusing on yourself physically.

A great way to begin is with a massage.  A massage can, and often does, release tensions within the body.  You relax completely as your body melts in to the hands of a well qualified, and fully licensed massage therapist.  This isn’t the time for epiphanies, or inappropriate disclosure, it’s a time for you to enjoy your relaxation, and focus on your muscles and body health.

A massage can also begin the energy healing deep within your body.  As you take time to relax, you allow your body to begin it’s own transformation.  The moment you get off the massage table, you will see things differently.  You may be light-headed, you may wobble, you will smile a smile which can only come from having a massage.

You may even relax so deeply during your massage that you fall asleep and nap for a bit.  This is perfectly healthy and expected.

Massage therapy improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues. It relieves muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility, and helps clear lactic acid and other waste, which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints.

Massage therapy relieves stress. It is thought to help the body’s stress response by lowering levels of hormones such as cortisol.  Massage therapy also appears to enhance immune function.

So you see, health and wellness is more than just taking pills, exercising, and eating right.
